We strip old wallpaper, wash off the paste, repair what the removal exposes and leave the wall primed for paint or new wallpaper. Removal is quoted separately from installation, because the price depends on what the paper is and what is under it. Text a photo of the wall, with a lifted corner if you can, and you get a flat-rate quote the same day.
How removal goes
- Test a cornerOne lifted corner tells us if the paper is strippable, vinyl-faced or painted over, and whether the wall was primed.
- StripDry where it releases, soaked or steamed where it does not. Floors and trim are covered first.
- Wash and repairPaste residue comes off. Torn drywall face is sealed, gouges filled, rough areas skim-coated.
- PrimeThe wall gets the right primer for paint or for the new wallpaper.

How much does wallpaper removal cost in Houston?
Removal is quoted per job, not from a price list. It depends on the type of paper, how many layers there are and whether the wall was primed before it was hung. Can you hang new wallpaper over the old one?
Sometimes it holds, but we do not recommend it. Old seams and texture show through, and fresh paste can loosen the layer underneath. We take the old paper off and check the wall first.
Will removal damage my drywall?
If the wall was never primed, the paper bonds to the drywall face and some of it tears on the way off. That is normal and fixable: we seal the torn areas, fill, skim and prime so the wall is flat again.
Can you remove wallpaper that has been painted over?
Yes. It takes longer, because the paint seals the paper and has to be scored before anything soaks in. Tell us it has been painted and we quote for it up front.
How long does it take?
A single accent wall usually comes off in one visit. Full rooms, painted-over paper and multiple layers take longer, and we tell you before we start.
Do you install the new wallpaper too?
Yes, that is most of our work. Removal and wallpaper installation can be quoted together from the same photo.
